Preparing a crisis page
Before an issue emerges prepare an draft article, template, or custom page which you can edit when you need to publish a statement. On the page make sure to add the correct content and modules. Leave it unpublished until you need it.
Steps
- Go to Pages
- Click Add page and select Article or Custom Page
- Give the page a recognizable title (example: ‘Emergency Page’)
- Create the blueprint for your statements including a first statement. We advise to add a timestamp to the statements.
- If needed, add a featured image that will grab attention if the situation is happening
- To help your coworkers, create clear CTAs so other users also know what to do.
- Add all modules that are important in your crisis communication (for example: Live News, General information, Personal information, or social media (X).
- Save the Page, but do not publish it.
- Decide how you want to highlight the statements on your newsroom landing page:
- As Featured article - a static piece at the top of your newsroom
- As a button
- In a Headlines module
