If you're unable to log in to your account, and you can't find Presspage in your Authenticator app (or if you have a new phone), users with Administrator rights can reset MFA for your account. 

This can be done as follows:

1. Go to Admin Settings > Users
2. Click on 'edit' next to the user you want to reset MFA for:
   
3. In the top right corner, click on the 'Reset MFA' button:
   

After MFA has been reset for this specific user, it will show a QR code the next time they try to log back in. This QR-code can be scanned with the Authenticator app to regain access.

How to safeguard your account with multi-factor authentication

As of September 2021, multi-factor authentication has been made mandatory for all Presspage users. If you haven't already set up MFA for your account, you will be presented with a QR code after you try to log in.

Make sure you have downloaded and opened an authentication app, such as Google Authenticator (Android, iOS) or Authy (Android, iOS). Microsoft Authenticator and Duo are also supported.

Open the authenticator app of your choice and scan the QR code. After you have scanned the QR code, your authenticator app will display a six-digit code which should be entered as seen in the example image here.

Enter the code and click 'Verify'. After you have clicked verify, multi-factor authentication will have been successfully enabled for your account. Once every 30 days, or if your IP address changes, you'll be asked for a 6-digit verification code from the authenticator app:

1. Click on the user icon at the far right side of the navigation bar.
2. Click on "Personal Settings" in the drop-down menu. 
   
3. From the menu on the left side, click on "Security".
   
4. In the next window, enter the old password, then the new one in the second and third boxes.
   
5. Scroll down and click "Save". 

The new password will be stored and will be used the next time logging in.

Occasionally, a user will forget their password, or the platform will expire one that has been active for 90 days or more. This article will explain how users can reset their password.

Resetting your password

1. Navigate to the log in screen and fill out your Username or Email address
   
2. The next screen will prompt you to fill in the password.
   
3. If you have forgotten your password, click the 'Forgot password?' link in the bottom right corner
   
4. The next screen will show the email address you just entered. Click the 'Send' button to send an email that contains a password reset link.
   
5. Check the email address inbox for an email that contains a link. Click the link.
6. Enter a new password, and then again to confirm it.  Click "Reset Password".
   The password must at least:
   • Be 10 characters long
   • And meet 3 of the following requirements:
     1. Contain at least 1 uppercase letter
     2. Contain at least 1 lowercase letter
     3. Contain at least 1 number
     4. Contain at least 1 special character
7. Repeat the new password.
8. Click "Back to login" once the new password has been entered.
9. Use your new password to log in to the platform.

A note on password managers

To avoid having to remember your Presspage password at all, we highly recommend the use of a password manager. These have the following benefits:

• They help you auto-generate very strong passwords
• You don't have to remember all your passwords yourself
• Prevent you from using the same password across multiple services, which is insecure

Examples of reputable password managers are Bitwarden, Proton Pass, and 1Password. If your company security policy does not allow you to make use of these password managers, you can also use your browser's internal password manager.

This article will explain how to create new user accounts that grant access to make changes to a Newsroom. Different access levels can be granted depending on how each user will be contributing to an account.

After a new user has been created, an email with instructions will be sent to the provided email address.

Adding a user

1. Click on the user icon at the far right side of the navigation bar
   
2. Click "Admin settings" from the drop down menu.

   Note:

   Only Administrator level users will have this ability.

   
   
3. Click the "Add User" button in the "Users" section
   
4. Enter the user's name, preferred language and email address.
   

   Note:

   Ensure that the email address is entered correctly. This is where login credentials will be sent, and will serve as the username.

   
   
5. Select the timezone where the user is located and the type of account the user will have:

7. The newly created user will receive an email with instructions to complete the account setup. If only one account exists, the new user will automatically be assigned to it.

Assigning users to accounts

1. If there are multiple accounts, the Administrator must assign an account to the new user. Find the user in the "Admin Settings" menu, and click on 'edit' in the column of the user's access settings.
   

   Note:

   Administrator level accounts can also change user type and delete users from this menu.

   
   
2. From the list of accounts, choose one or more accounts to assign to the new user:
   
   Toggle the switch to on to assign this account to the user. You can also assign individual languages in each account to your user:
   
   
   If a user has been granted the role of Manager (see: User Roles) you can assign more than one client account to that user. Admin users already have access to all client accounts within your account.

Once you have correctly assigned accounts and languages to this user, click 'Close'.

The user now has access to the platform and can begin working as intended.

Methods

Integrating a Newsroom can be done in two different ways, depending on your preference.

(Sub)domain integration

Setting up a domain or subdomain is the fastest, easiest and most common way to integrate a Newsroom with your main site. Because a new (sub)domain is being created, its direct positive SEO influence on the main domain is limited. However, it still has a slight indirect positive influence.

If you have a single account with multiple languages, you can choose a different subdomain for each language, like press.example.com for the English language and presse.example.com for the German language.

Instructions for a Subdomain integration

1. Start with picking a subdomain (e.g. https://press.example.com or https://news.example.com)
2. Contact your IT department or 3rd party vendor and instruct them to add this record to their DNS panel:
   
    - domain: press.example.com (substitute with your own domain)
    - value:ssl-client.presspage.com.
    - type: CNAME record
   
   This record will ensure that the domain is connected to our platform.
3. Notify your Implementation Manager when this is done so we can complete the subdomain setup.

Subfolder integration

Setting up a subfolder requires a bit more technical knowledge and work on your end (which we can partially assist with) but the advantages are that it fits perfectly with your current website structure and it directly positively influences the SEO of your main domain. 

Unlike a subdomain integration, it's not possible to set up a different subfolder for each language in the same account. A newsroom will have one subfolder and different languages appended to it, such as example.com/news for the main newsroom and then example.com/news/de for the German language and example.com/news/fr for French, and so on.

Instructions for a subfolder integration

1. Start with picking a subfolder name (e.g. https://www.example.com/press or https://www.example.com/news)
2. Contact your IT department or 3rd party vendor and ask them which server environment is in place for hosting your website and inform your Implementation Manager. We have documentation on integrating on a subfolder for the following servers: Apache, Nginx and IIS.
3. Apply the instructions that will be provided by Support. 
4. Notify your Implementation Manager when this is done so we can complete the subfolder setup.

For customers in the onboarding phase or undergoing a rebrand that involves a domain change, the Implementation team is available to assist. Existing customers who wish to change their domain or discuss the options can contact Support for guidance.
