Learning path: Set up the Newsroom (6 modules)

Overview

This learning path is designed for Administrator or Manager users who are responsible for setting up and maintaining the newsroom. Whether in the onboarding phase, making improvements on a live newsroom, or going through a rebranding. This series can be taken step-by-step, or you can choose what is most relevant to your work in Presspage.  

By following this learning path, you will be able to:

  • Create a tagging structure
  • Set up and brand your newsroom homepage
  • Create page templates to ensure consistency
  • Build evergreen custom pages for long-term resources
  • Organize content with the archive pages

Learning Path

Module 1: Newsroom Tags

Duration: 11 minutes

This module covers how to set up the Newsroom tags. Tags allow to filter content in the modules and archive pages, creating a clear structure in the Newsroom’s content for better visibility for the audience.

Module 2: Newsroom Homepage

Duration: 9 minutes

This module covers how to organise your newsroom’s homepage so it highlights the latest or most important news, creates easy paths to the other relevant content in or outside the newsroom and/or promotes and increases engagement with the audience.

Module 3: Page Templates

Duration: 4 minutes

Articles and custom pages populate the newsroom. For the preparation of the Newsroom creating templates for articles and custom pages is an important step, because it ensures consistency in the appearance of the pages and helps with operational efficiency for the team.  

How to create article pages (video) is a learning path that can be best followed separately.

Module 4: Custom Pages (Evergreen Content)

Duration: 17 minutes

This module guides you in creating evergreen content with the Custom pages. Custom pages are ideal for hosting content like company background, leadership bios, or media kits.

Module 5: Archive Pages

Duration: 5 minutes

This module shows you how to structure your content using tags and archive pages. Having clear and searchable archives make it easy for visitors to find past content and explore themes.

Module 6: Media Library

Duration: 4 minutes

In this module, you’ll focus on organizing your media assets in the Media Library to ensure easy access to (approved) images, videos, and documents which visitors can view and use.
