Introduction: Newsroom Homepage
Your Newsroom homepage is the central entry point to your newsroom. It should effectively showcase all available content, provide easy navigation to key sections, and ensure that visitors can quickly find relevant information. This guide walks you through setting up your Newsroom homepage using the Newsroom’s core modules, and explains the function of each Module.
Homepage Setup
With the Presspage Newsroom platform, users can control the middle section of their newsroom pages (between the header and footer) using modules. While the header and footer are template-based, and therefore cannot be controlled by users, the rest of the homepage can be customized via the platform to fit your needs.
Note:
For change requests to the header or footer, please reach out to Support.
Step 1: Setting Up and Maintaining Your Newsroom Homepage
Navigate to Newsroom in the top menu and select Homepage from the drop-down menu. You will now see the Page Layout, which serves as the backbone for each page within the Newsroom, including the homepage, article pages, custom pages, and the media library.
Page Layout
The Page Layout displays all the modules currently enabled for the homepage, and any changes you make here will be visible immediately. You can easily drag and drop modules to rearrange them. To edit a module, hover over it and click Edit. To remove a module, click the Delete button.
Go to Page Layout for details.
Step 2: Adding a New Module
Go to the Modules List in the left menu. Use the search bar or scroll to find the module you want to add. Click on the module to add it. Follow the setup steps for the selected module. Click Save once you're ready. In the Page Layout drag and drop the Module to the preferred location on the homepage
Top Section of the Newsroom
The top section is the first thing visitors see when they land on your newsroom. Newsroom modules which you often see here are:
- Breadcrumb Module: The title serves as a newsroom identifier and a breadcrumb for easy navigation.
- Banner Module: A banner image can be placed at the top with a text overlay as a welcome message to the Newsroom.
- News Carousel or Featured Article: Displays two to ten recent or feature one article using the Carousel module or Featured Article modules. Articles appear in chronological order, but filters can be applied based on tags.
- Search Module: Helps visitors quickly find relevant content. It can be placed in the header or prominently displayed on the homepage.
- Featured Topics Section: Uses the Button or Tag Cloud module to highlight key topics, linking to related content such as thought leadership pages.
Go to Breadcrumb, Banner, News Carousel, Featured Article, Search, Button, Tag Cloud for details.

Below the featured topics, you can structure your content effectively:
-
Headlines Module: Add one or more Headlines to display previews of articles. For example, one module can show the latest news, while another features blog posts.

- Archive Pages: Each Headline module links to an archive page, where visitors can explore past articles sorted by tags.
