Newsroom Statistics

The Newsroom Statistics provide insight into how visitors interact with your Newsroom and articles. You can track traffic, analyze audience behavior, and identify which content performs best.

This article explains how to access Newsroom Statistics, how to use filters, and how to interpret the available reports and terminology.

Access Newsroom Statistics

To access the Newsroom Statistics:

  1. Open the Newsroom dropdown in the top navigation
  2. Click Statistics

Use filters in Newsroom Statistics

At the top of the Statistics screen, you can filter data to refine your analysis.

Available filters

  • Account Statistics - Shows the total combined traffic of all Newsrooms and articles for the selected language(s)
  • Newsroom Statistics - Shows traffic for the Newsroom landing page only
  • All Pages Statistics - Shows the combined traffic of all articles for the selected language(s)
  • Language - Filters data by selected language
  • Date range - Defines the time period for the data (default is the last 2 months)

To apply a filter:

  1. Select the desired filter options
  2. Click Filter

Export statistics

You can export statistics for reporting purposes.

  1. Open the Export dropdown (top right)
  2. Choose one of the following formats:
    • PDF - For sharing or presentations
    • Excel - For further data analysis

Understand Statistics terminology

This section explains how visitor data is defined within the platform.

  • Visit - A single page view by a visitor
  • Visitor - An IP address visiting a page (human or bot)
  • Registered visit - A visit identified as human, with most bot traffic filtered out
  • Total visits - The total number of visits within a selected period
  • Unique visit - A uniquely counted visitor per page per day

Newsroom Statistics reports 

Below the filters, you will find multiple reports that visualize Newsroom activity.

Visits

The Visits report shows how many times pages are viewed.

  • Total visits - Displayed in the numerical widget
  • Unique visits - Displayed alongside total visits
  • Line chart - Visualises visits over time
    • Green line = unique visits
    • Blue line = total visits

You can zoom into the chart by selecting a date range. Click Reset zoom to return to the default view.

Returning vs. New

The Return vs New pie chart shows the percentages of all the visitors of the selected filter divided into New/Unique (green) and Returning (blue) Visitors.

Most Viewed pages

Most viewed pages shows the top five most viewed pages and can be paginated to show more. Click on an item to display the Page's statistics.

Published pages

Published pages shows the last six published pages and can be paginated to show more. Every result will show the title of the page and the amount of total visits it has. Click on an item to display the Page's statistics.

Social shares

Social shares displays how often a page has been shared on X, Facebook or LinkedIn using the Share module.

Referring websites

Shows the top ten best referring websites of the selected filter range. Click on the triangle icon next to the URL expands the item to show visits to subpages of that particular domain.

Most viewed images and downloads

The most viewed images and the most viewed downloads show the twelve most clicked images by visitors and the twelve most clicked downloads by visitors. 
 
Most viewed downloads tracks files from the Downloads module and from the Downloads tab in the Media Library.
