The Media Library page displays images, videos, and documents. Use the media type tabs at the top to switch between asset types. Categories and subcategories can be added on the left side to help structure your content.
This article explains how to manage and update the Media Library page in your Newsroom. It covers navigation, page settings, categories, asset assignment, and image ordering.

Navigating the Media Library
To open the Media Library page:
- In the top navigation, select the Newsroom dropdown and choose Pages
- Scroll down the Pages screen and select Media Library
Within the Media Library page, you can access:
- Settings - Manage the title, subtitle, text box, and page details
- Page layout - Used to configure the layout. Because most elements are predetermined on the page changes on the Page layout are not automatically reflected. Contact support@presspage.com for assistance.
- Category Manager - Create and manage categories and subcategories to organize the assets.
- Miscellaneous - Add a Google Analytics code or manage the page's meta information in the SEO options.
Managing page text and details
Go to Settings to update the page textual content. To add or edit the texts:
- Enter the text in the Title and Subtitle or text box
- Select Save to confirm the changes.
Leave the title field empty, if you don’t want a title to appear at the top of the page.
Page details
The Media Library uses the most Page details settings as other pages. Here are the most relevant ones:
- Slug - defines the Media Library unique page UR

Featured image - add an image for social sharing and metadata. The featured image appears with the link.
- If no featured image is added, the default featured image or account logo will be used.
Creating and managing Media Library categories
Categories and subcategories structure the Media Library and determine how assets are displayed.
Add a category
- Open the Category Manager.
- Select Add category.
- Enter the Category title.
- Enter a corresponding Tag.
- If left empty, the title is used as the tag.
- Add as many categories as needed by repeating the steps.

Select Save to confirm your changes.
Add a subcategory
- Locate the parent category
- Select the arrow icon to expand it
- Select Add subcategory
- Enter the Subcategory title
- Enter a corresponding Tag
- Add as many categories as needed by repeating the steps.

Category layout options
Additional layout options for the Category manager:
- Select a default category - The Media Library opens on the All media category by default. This can be overwritten by checking the default option in one of the (sub)categories. Once enabled, the Media Library page will open on the selected (sub)category.
- Disable 'All media' option - By default an All media category appears at the top of the left column, above the categories. Check this option to remove the category
- Default display category menu - Choose to show all categories collapsed or expanded, showing the subcategories.
Assign assets to categories
After creating categories, assign assets through the Asset manager.
- Select the Asset manager in the left navigation
- Find the asset you want to categorise
- In the category column, select the green plus icon to add a tag
- Choose one or more category or subcategory tags

Select Save to confirm the changes. The assets will appear in the corresponding categories and subcategories.
Reordering assets in the Media Library
Assets can be reordered within the categories and subcategories.
Note:
Assets cannot be reordered in the All media section. Reordering is only available within categories and subcategories.
To change the order:
- Open the relevant category
- Select Order
- Drag and drop assets into the preferred order
- Select Save to confirm the changes
If the Order button is not visible, check whether the category contains an empty subcategory. Expand the category and remove the empty subcategory. The Order option will then appear.
Linking to a Media Library category or tab
Link directly to a category or media type tab by adding the following queries to the Media Library URL:

Media Library (sub)category - Append
/?c=and the specific category to the Media Library URL. Eg. Category 'Infographics'/?c=infographics -
Tagged assets - Append
/?t=and the specific tag to the Media Library URL. Eg. Tag 'example'/?t=exampleto the Media Library URL. -
Multiple tags or categories - Use the same queries and separate the tags or categories with a + icon. Eg.
/?t=example+example2. -
Media type - Append
/?tab=and the media type to the Media Library URL. Available types:-
