Author

In Presspage, the Author module shows who wrote an article, with their name, an optional profile picture and an optional link to their email address or bio page. Readers and journalists can see who is behind the story and how to reach them. This article explains how to add an author to an article, customize how the author appears and edit the author's details.

Add an author to an article

Add the Author module to an article and select who wrote it. By default, the author's name appears below the article title.

  1. In the navigation bar, open the Newsroom dropdown and select Pages. Then open a new or existing article.

  5. Select Save.

Note:

The dropdown menu lists the contacts from the Personal Contact Information module. To show the author somewhere other than below the title, change the module's position in Page Layout.

Customize how the author appears

After you select an author, more options appear in the Author module. Use them to choose what readers see and what happens when they select the author's name.

  • Show profile picture: Displays the profile picture the author has set in their personal user settings.
  • Caption: The text shown before the author's name. The default is "Written by:", and you can change or remove it.
  • Click event: Makes the author's name clickable. Select Email to link to the author's email address, or Internal or External to link to a page inside or outside your newsroom. For example, if your editors have bio pages in your newsroom, you can link each name to the right bio page.

Select Save to apply your changes.

Edit author details

To change the author's contact details, select Edit author details in the Author module. This opens the same edit contact page you can reach from the Personal Contact Information module.
