Distribute to social media

The platform allows you to distribute articles to social media directly during publishing, helping you share updates quickly and keep messaging consistent across your newsroom and social accounts.

This article explains how to distribute articles to social channels from the platform, how to authenticate and add a social channel, and how to remove a social channel when it is no longer needed.

How social distribution works

Social distribution is managed through the Publish options of an article page. When a social account is selected, a content card featuring the article title, link, and featured image is automatically shared to the selected channels when the article is published. Social distribution is optional per article, and supports one or multiple channels.

Connect a social account

Before you can distribute articles to social media, the connection between the platform and social account needs to be authenticated. This is a one time setup for each channel.

To authenticate a social account:

  • Go to Distribution options and click Add channel

  • Sign in to the (company’s) social account when prompted
  • Grant the required permissions
  • You will be redirected back to the Publish options

Once the connection is complete, the social channel becomes available as a Distribution option.

Add a social account as distribution option

  • Go to Distribute options and click Add channel
  • From the dropdown select the social media you want to add.
  • From the dropdown select the account you want to distribute the page to, for example a company account.

Remove a social account

If a social account is no longer needed, you can remove it from the platform. This prevents it from appearing in publish options for future articles.

Removing a social account stops future distribution to that channel. It does not remove posts that were already published on the social network.

To remove a social channel:

  • Go to Extra options in the Publish Options screen.
