Image gallery

This article describes how to add an Image gallery to the Newsroom, Custom or Article page.

Image gallery specifications

  • The Image gallery module sits apart from the article text.
  • Add one or multiple images per module.
  • Add one or multiple Image gallery modules to your article.
  • Engagement: images are downloadable and can be shared on social media.
  • The size of the image or images automatically scales to the width of the main column on the page.
  • Image size cannot be manually changed. 
  • The Image gallery module can be added to the Newsroom Homepage.

Adding an Image gallery

  1. Go to the Newsroom dropdown and select Homepage, or go to Pages and select the Page you want to edit.

  2. In the sidebar, open the Multimedia dropdown and choose Images.

  3. Click Add module to add a Image gallery.

  4. Click Select asset(s) to open the Asset Manager.

  5. In the Asset manager select the images to add to the Image gallery  or add new images by selecting Upload items.
  6. Click Select to save the selected Images to the Image gallery.
  7. To add more Image Galleries, select Add module again and repeat the same steps.

Uploading or embedding images

In the Asset Manager, you can either embed an image from an external source or upload an image file from your computer.

  1. In the Asset manager select Upload

    • To upload images from a computer
      1. Click the Upload Items.  
      2. Select all images to be uploaded. 
      3. Wait for the green check box to appear that indicates the file upload was successful.
    • To upload images from a web page
      1. Click  Upload via URL 
      2. Paste the URL in the URL field and click Save.

After saving, the images appears in the Asset Manager. Select one or more images and click Select to add them to the Image Gallery.

Managing Image Gallery options

After adding Images in the Image gallery use the options to organise the gallery layout: 

  • Display mode - Choose a layout for the gallery
    • Default - The images appear in a static row in the order they were uploaded.  Change the order by clicking and dragging the images to the desired order of appearance from the Image Module.

    • Gallery - Images appear in a horizontal gallery. Control whether the gallery scrolls automatically by checking the option Scroll automatic. Include at least 5 images to avoid repeating images.

    • Wide Gallery - A wide gallery slider, which can also be set to full width.
      • Scroll automatic - Control whether the gallery scrolls automatically by ebaling this option.
      • Full width - Enable this option to turn the module into a banner at the top of the Page.

    • Carousel - The images will stack and rotate when clicked.

  • Portrait mode - Enable portrait mode if you want to display all images with a vertical orientation. For example for portrait photos.

  • Display captions - Make the title and/or description visible to the visitors by checking the options. The title and description can be edited via the Asset manager.
  • Change image order - Drag and drop images within the module to change the order.
  • Mass copy - Push the Image gallery to a localised Homepage or Page. 

Mass copy an Image gallery to an additional language

If your account contains multiple multiple languages, use the Mass copy button to copy the Image gallery to the other languages.

  • Choose one of the options:
    • Overwrite Image module - Overwrite the current image module in the selected language(s)
    • Create new module - Create a new image module in the selected language(s)
    • Skip this language - Skip pushing the image gallery to the selected language

FAQ - Why does my image upload fail?

An upload can fail due to one of the following reasons:

  • The file format is not supported. 
  • The file size exceeds 1 GB. 
  • The file name contains special characters such as quotation marks or asterisks.

Make sure the image meets all requirements before uploading it again.
