0:00 Preview before adding modules
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to add modules and rearrange them to create a clear and visually appealing layout. You've added text to your article or custom page.
Now you're ready to enhance it. Before adding new elements, let's take a quick look at your current article. Right now it contains a title, a subtitle, a summary, and several paragraphs. At the bottom you see the boilerplate.
Let's return to the platform and enrich this page.
00:22 Introducing Modules
Modules are available on the left side of the editor.
You can add them at any time to enhance your page. Use the search to quickly find the right module. Press page offers a wide range of modules.
0:40 Personal Contact information
For this example, we'll add the most commonly used ones, starting with the personal contact information.
Enable the module and select the contacts you want to add to the page.
Drag and drop each contact in the preferred order.
Users are automatically added as contacts. If you need to add a new contact that is not a user, click Add Contact to go the Create Contact screen. Here you can add the contacts details and click Save to add them to the contacts list.
1:05 Quotes
Next is the quotes module.
Select Add Module, paste the quote into the text field.
Enter the details of the person being quoted. The platform stores any new entries so you can select the name the next time you use it.
If you want to add more than one quote, select Add Module again and follow the same steps.
1:27 Multimedia Introduction and Image gallery
Via the multimedia drop-down you can add an image gallery, videos, downloadable files and a media kit button.
First upload or select the assets you want to add. Use the settings to determine the layout, display captions, and to order the items.
Click Add Module and repeat if you want to add additional multimedia throughout the page.
2:05 Videos
When adding videos, you can opt to embed the video to keep the page load time acceptable. Paste the URL or embed code into the text field to add the video.
2:17 Downloads
Downloadable files added to your pages will appear using their hyperlinked title.
In the list view of the asset manager, you can change the title from the original file name to a more visitor-friendly label.
2:29 Media Kit
Enable the media kit button so visitors can download all assets at once.
If you don't have a PDF of your text, check the include-generated PDF option, and the platform will provide a PDF with each download.
2:41 Page Layout: Rearranging texts and modules
While adding or after you added modules, use the page layout to position them correctly on your page.
Open the page layout screen to see an overview of every text block and module you have added.
Drag and drop each element to arrange them in the order you prefer. Giving your modules clear titles makes them easier to recognize while you work.
3:13 Page Layout: Side column
If your newsroom uses a side column, make sure to reorder those modules as well. Some newsroom pages only have one main column.
If that's the case, move any side column modules into the main column, otherwise those modules will not be visible.
Refresh the page to see your updated layout.
Your article is now organized. The gallery appears first, followed by your article text, quotes, videos, and finally the boilerplate. Lastly, the side the rear column also displays your selected modules in the correct order.
