The Page Settings is used to configure a page’s function within the Newsroom as well as define the SEO schema type.
Accessing Page Settings
Page settings can be accessed in two ways, and look slightly different dependent on the path you take.
1. When creating a new page: Go to Pages in the Newsroom dropdown. On the Pages overview, click the ‘Add page’ button.
2. Hover over an existing page in the Pages overview, the button Page Settings will appear.
Page Settings options
On Page Settings there are several things to view or manage:
- Created by (only visible via the Page Settings button)
The original creator of the article: The user who added the page to the platform.
- Page Type
The type of page to add: Article Page, Custom Page, or Based on article or template.
- Page name
The working title of the Page, for example the article title. This title is only reflected in the platform. Editing the page name via 'Page Settings' will not change the title of your article, nor the URL. The Title field on the Page Text is the title that is reflected in the Newsroom and is visible for visitors.
- Default Language (only visible via the Add Page button)
If the newsroom hosts multiple languages, select in what language this page should be published.
- Short description (only visible via the Page Settings button)
Add additional information about the page, this is only visible in the Page Settings. - SEO Schema type
Schema types help web crawlers better understand the content of the page and display more relevant titles, images, and date information in search results.
Schema Types:
- Article (default), the most generic type intended to cover all types of content.
- Newsarticle, for content that reports news or context and supporting materials for the news.
- Blogposting, a blog post.
- Set as Template
Checking this option flags a page as Template which puts the page at the top of the dropdown for the Page type ‘Based on article or page’ and under the pages category ‘Templates’ on the Pages overview (the Template needs to remain in the 'Unpublished' status, if a Template is published it will appear under the Published category).
- Restrict Access
Checking this option limits the access to the page for users to only yourself and other selected users.
