Creating a sitemap to help search engines crawl your Newsroom
For every newsroom a sitemap is automatically generated by PressPage. A sitemap is an overview of pages on your website and how often they change and should be crawled. Sitemaps especially help with large, complex sites that search engines such as Google and Bing may have trouble to index fully.
Because of this, having a sitemap is good for your SEO. That's why the platform creates one for every newsroom. You'll never be penalized by search engines for having a sitemap on your website.
- For subdomains, append /sitemap.xml to the newsroom URL to see the sitemap. Example: https://careers.presspage.com/sitemap.xml
- For subfolders, append /include/sitemapgenerator.php to the newsroom URL to see the sitemap. Example: https://www.presspage.com/news/include/sitemapgenerator.php
We recommend referring to the Newsroom sitemap in the main sitemap of your website as an extra sitemap location.
