Form

The Form module allows you to collect information from visitors, such as email addresses, phone numbers, or feedback. This article explains how to add a Form module to a Newsroom or article and how to configure it to collect the required data.

Adding a form module

  1. Open the Newsroom dropdown and select Homepage, or go to Pages to open a specific page.

  2. In the sidebar, open the Interactive tab and select Form.

  3. Toggle the module from OFF to ON.

  4. Configure the Form details:
    • Title - Enter the title of the form, 
    • Results to email - ToEnter the email address that should receive the form submissions.
    • Submit button text - Enter the call to action shown on the submit button.
    • Form completion message - Enter the message displayed after the form is submitted.

  • Form submit action - Enable this option to define what happens after a visitor submits the form.
    Choose one of the following options:
    • Internal page - Select a Newsroom page from the dropdown.

    • External link - Paste the URL of the external webpage.

    • Downloadable content - Click Select item to open the Asset Manager. Select an existing document or upload a new file.

Click Save to apply the changes.

Adding fields to the Form

After configuring the Form details, add the fields that will collect information from the visitor.

  1. Click Add Form Element and select the Form Element from the dropdown menu.
  2. After selecting an element, the configuration panel opens:
    • Title - Enter a title of the form element into the box provided, indicating to the reader what information to enter.
    • Required - Enable Required, to make it mandatory to fill out the field before the reader can submit the form.
  3. Click Save to add the element to the form.
  4. Repeat these steps to add additional fields as needed.
  5. To reorder fields, drag and drop them using the directional icon.
  6. Click Save to confirm all changes.

Form element options

You can combine different form elements to collect specific types of information.

Text Field 

Use Text field to collect short responses, such as a name, phone number, email address, or short comment.

  • Validation - Enable validation to restrict the input to a Phone number or E-mail format. Select None to allow any type of text.

Text Area  

Use Text area to collect longer, open text responses.

Radio Button, Check box, or Dropdown menu

  • Radio button - Allows the visitor to select one option from a predefined list. 
  • Check box - Allows the visitor to select one or multiple options from a predefined list. 
  • Dropdown menu - Allows the visitor to select one option from a dropdown list.

Configuration options:

  • + icon - Add a new answer option.
  • X icon - Delete an answer option.
  • Directional icon - Drag and drop options to change the order.
  • Orientation - Choose whether options are displayed horizontally or vertically.

View and export results

  1. Click View form results to access submitted entries. form-results.png
  2. You can export the results in Excel (XLSX) format.
