Setting a custom video start time or thumbnail

Manage start time for embedded videos

When embedding videos from external platforms, the thumbnail is managed on the hosting platform.

For example, on YouTube you can generate a link that starts the video at a specific time. Use the Share option on the video page, select Start at, enter the desired time, and copy the generated link. Paste this link into the Video module.

The thumbnail displayed in the Newsroom will match the thumbnail configured on the external platform.

Edit the thumbnail for uploaded videos

For uploaded videos the thumbnail can be changed in the video settings:

  1. In the Asset Manager, click the gear icon next to the video to open its settings. Select Edit thumbnail.
  2. In the Edit thumbnail screen select by moving the dot on the progress bar to the preferred time.
  3. Select Save to confirm the new thumbnail
