Numbers & Stats: Where do I find them and what do they mean?
Table of contents:
This article will explain where to find statistics of previously sent Email campaigns.
After you've logged in to the Presspage Platform, click on Email in the navigation bar at the top of the page:
Open the Sent Campaigns from the menu on the left and select a campaign from the list. An overview of the Campaign details will then be displayed:
Here you can see how many total contacts, contact lists and Media Database lists were included in the campaign. If you hover your mouse over the 'i' icon, it will display which lists were used.
If no contact lists or Media Database lists were used, then only the Total contacts will be displayed.
Campaign Statistics
After having selected a campaign from the Sent Campaigns, you can then select the tab 'Campaign statistics'.
This tab will open up with the 'General' view. This shows to how many recipients the campaign was sent successfully.
The 'Sent to' number is defined as all emails that were successfully sent by Presspage to the email recipients. In the screenshot below, you'll see that 223 emails have been sent from Presspage.
The amount of recipients is defined as all unique email addresses that were selected in the 'Add Recipient' step while composing the campaign.
You'll also see how many clicks and opens are being registered. By default, you will see the Unique opens and clicks, so if a user opens the mail twice it will be shown once. The dropdown menu lets you also see the Total amount of opens and clicks, so if one user opens the email twice it will be shown as two.
Although some emails may be successfully 'Sent' from Presspage to the recipients' servers, some recipients may return a hard bounce. This number will be shown in the hard bounce box, which will be explained below.
Below the overview of clicks and opens, you'll see a recent activity feed. It shows the same events on a per-user-basis, as well as buttons showing unsubscribes, complaints and Hard/Soft bounces. Hard/Soft bounces and Unsubscribes count towards the amount of Sent emails as they were successfully sent to the recipient, and the bounce or unsubscribe event has taken place afterwards.
You can click on these buttons to show a list of which recipients have recorded one of these events.
Then, there is the 'Recipient' view, which shows a drop-down menu with the following events:
- Clicks: How often a user has clicked a link in the email.
- Opens: How many recipients have opened the email.
- Hard Bounces: The email has been rejected by the recipients email server permanently
- Unsubscribes: The recipient has chosen to unsubscribe from your email campaigns, using the unsubscribe link in the bottom of the email.
- Complained: The user has marked the email as SPAM.
- Failed: The email wasn't sent to this user successfully.
You'll also find the Sent (how often the campaign has been sent successfully to a recipient) event in this overview.
The search box allows you to search for a particular recipient and see all events associated with that specific recipient. You'll also be able to filter by a particular event.
If you wish to review the statistics of a different campaign then again click on 'Sent Campaigns in the menu on the left and start over the process.
Campaign statistics can be exported into a CSV file by choosing the 'Export statistics' dropdown menu, and then choosing 'Campaign results (.csv)':
