Why can’t I reuse the same page title?
When you create a new article, Presspage automatically generates a slug (the unique part of the page URL) based on the article title. If the same title is used more than once, the system will try to create the same slug again — which isn’t possible, since URLs must be unique.
What happens if I reuse a title?
If you publish another article with the same title, the system cannot create a new URL. This can cause errors or prevent the article from being published.
How do I fix this?
You can edit the slug to make it unique by adding context, such as the publication date or reporting period.
Example:
Title: Share Buyback
Slug/URL: media.yourcompany.com/share-buyback-september-2025
How to adjust the Slug
- Go to the Pages dashboard and find and open your article
- Scroll down to the Article page details section.
- Look for Slug (unique link to this Page). By default, it matches your article title. Example: Share buyback
- Click inside the slug field and add extra details to make it unique.
Good options: Month/year (`-september-2025`); Reporting cycle (`-q2-results`) - Click Save to apply the new slug.
Best Practices for Slugs
- Keep them short and clear
- Add the date or reporting cycle for recurring articles.
This ensures all your newsroom URLs stay unique and accessible.
