00:00 Create New Contacts List
The Contacts List feature allows you to organize your contacts into targeted lists, making it easier to manage campaigns and tailor communications.
To create a new list, navigate to the List Dashboard and click "Create new list." Give your list a clear, descriptive title, for example 'Product Announcements North America', or 'Investors Q2 Updates'.
00:20 List Settings: Title, External Title, Tags, Account and User Access
Next, configure your list settings:
- Title: This is the internal name used to identify the list within your organization.
- External Title: This is the name visible to subscribers via the Subscriptions module in the newsroom.
- Tags: Use tags like *product*, *press*, *customers*, or *internal comms* to help your team quickly find the right list.
- Account and Language Access: Restrict visibility to specific accounts or languages, if needed.
- User Access: Manage who can view or edit the list—helpful for organizations with multiple users, decentralized teams, or sensitive material.
01:28 Add Contacts
Once the list is created, you can begin adding contacts. This can be done in several ways:
- Add a new contact via the contact form.
- Select existing contacts from your contact database.
- Upload a CSV file
01:53 List Detail Screen: Settings
On the List Detail screen, you can edit settings:
- External List Name, used for the Subscribe module
- Tags
- Account and Language Access
- User Access
02:26 List Detail Screen: Search and Filters
Use the search bar or filter options on the right-hand side to quickly locate specific contacts within the list.
To add more contacts, click the green "Add Contacts" button.
Click on a contact's name to view and edit their details on the Contact Details screen.
02:54 Contact Organizations
In the Organizations section, your contacts are grouped by outlet. Think newspapers, companies, or agencies. This makes it easy to see which contacts belong to the same organization and coordinate your outreach accordingly.
New organizations will be added if they are in the imported contact details or when someone submits their organization via an opt-in.
Or you can manually add organizations via the Add organization button on the Dashboard or via the Contact Details Screen.
