00:43 Examples of Modules to Use in Templates

I've already prepared this template, so let’s go over some examples of modules you could use in a template.

First, I added a Summary Box with a clear instruction to add text.
Instructions or calls to action can be helpful reminders for users, including yourself, about what needs to be added to the article.

Under Text Block, I also included instructions and specified which type of subheading should be used above each paragraph.

Next, I added a Boilerplate, making sure the title is visible on the page.
In Article Page Details, I also added Publicity Settings and made sure to include a tag.

From the list of modules, I enabled Contact Information, filling it with my own details.
I also created a Related News section using the Headlines Module, so related articles will appear at the bottom of the template.

Lastly, I used the Page Layouts to drag and drop everything into the correct position.

Now, let’s see what this page looks like from the front end.
You’ll notice the summary, subheadings, boilerplate, related news section, and contact card are all present and ready for use when creating an actual article.

Make sure to keep the template page in Draft.

02:42 Use a Template to Create a New Page
When you’re ready to use it:

  1. Go back to Add Page.
  2. Select the Based On option.
  3. Choose the template you want to use from the dropdown.

Fill out the page name, click Save, and a copy will be created.
All elements from the template will already be present.

You can now focus on adding the text and inserting any additional modules like images, videos, or quotes.

Lastly, if you need to make changes to your existing templates:

  • You can find them in the Pages Overview under the Templates category.
  • Click Edit on the template you want to update.

Please note:
Changes made to a template will not affect already published articles.
They will only apply to new articles created after the template was updated.
