00:00 Adding Text to Page
Once you're done adding details in the "Add Page Settings," you’ll be redirected to the Article Page Text section, where you can start adding text to your page.
For this video, I’ve already copied and pasted my text into the platform to save time, but you can easily do the same if you have content ready from another source.
You can either paste your text directly or type it into the fields provided.
Before walking you through the options on this page, let's first preview how the article currently looks on the newsroom site, where visitors will view it.
00:40 Preview Page
Before previewing the page, make sure to save it at least once.
Once saved, the Preview Page button will become available, allowing you to view the page from a visitor’s perspective.
It’s important to understand that the header and breadcrumb at the top are part of your newsroom’s design and cannot be edited by you.
Also, please note: the colors and branding shown in this video are from a Presspage demo. Your newsroom will reflect your company's branding.
The main column and side column are the areas you can control using platform modules.
At the top of the main column, you'll see the published city and date, followed by the title, subtitle, and a summary in a gray box.
Below that is the main article text, with paragraphs and subheadings, and at the bottom, you’ll find the boilerplate section with its own subheading.
Now, let's return to the platform to walk through the editable elements.
02:28 Text fields on Article page text
Here, you’ll see your Title, Subtitle, and Summary fields.
- If you want the title to be visible in the summary section, check the "Show Title in Page" option.
- The Text Block contains your paragraphs and subheadings.
- Towards the bottom, you’ll find the boilerplate, where again, you can choose to show or hide the title.
03:08 Meta title (SEO)
You also have the option to add a Meta Title for SEO purposes.
This allows you to specify an alternative title if your article title is too long for SEO best practices.
03:36 Text blocks
Now, let’s work with text blocks.
Rather than keeping all paragraphs in a single text block, you can split your content into multiple blocks.
This lets you insert images, quotes, or videos between sections.
- Cut and paste different paragraphs.
- Click Add Text Block to create new sections.
04:10 Text editor options: Subheadings (SEO)
We recommend using subheadings for SEO.
Search engine crawlers prioritize titles, subtitles, and subheadings.
To apply a subheading:
- Highlight the text you want to convert.
- Select the appropriate heading level from the dropdown.
These styles will match your newsroom’s branding.
In the text editor, you’ll also find options for:
- Different fonts
- Lists and bullet points
You can also add inline images.
04:58 Inline Image
To add an inline image:
- Click Add Inline Image to open the Asset Manager.
- Upload a new image or select an existing one.
After selecting an image, you can adjust:
- Alignment (left, right, or center)
- Width (to change the size)
- Whether text wraps around the image
You can add multiple inline images with different alignments if needed.
05:49 Boilerplate
At the boilerplate section, you can also choose to show or hide the title.
Always remember to Save your changes after adding or adjusting images.
Finally, after saving:
- You’ll see your featured image at the top if that option was enabled.
- Inline images will display with your chosen alignment.
And that’s it! You've successfully added and previewed your article page.
