00:00 Add page and Page Settings
In this video, we'll walk through how to add a new page to your newsroom, step by step.
To get started, make sure you're in the pages section of your newsroom, you can find it by opening the newsroom dropdown and selecting pages.
Next, click the add page button. This takes you to the page settings, where you can choose your page type.
00:20 Page types
Let's look at the different page types you can create.
First, the article page type. This is used for time-sensitive content. When published, the page includes a published date and automatically appears in your newsroom, in modules or archive pages.
Next, the custom page. This is perfect for evergreen content. Like about us pages or biography information, custom pages don't include a published date and won't appear automatically in your newsroom. To display them, you'll need to add a button link to the page or include them in the navigation.
Lastly, the based on option. This lets you copy an existing page or template, keeping your design consistent and saving time no need to start from scratch.
1:00 Page name and Language selection
Under page name, enter a working title. For example, the article title.
If your account supports multiple languages, use the default language switch to select the language you want to publish in.
1:12 SEO Schema Type
Next is schema type, which helps search engines understand your content. The default is article, which works for most pages.
If your post is factual news, choose news article.
If it's a blog, select blog posting.
1:24 Options: Template, Confidential, Restrict Access
Under options, you'll find three checkboxes.
Turn on set as template if you want to create a reusable layout for pages or articles. This allows others to select it later using the based on option.
Choose confidential if the page should stay hidden until a specific date. You can set an expiry date and the page will only be available for publishing once that date arrives.
Finally, use Restrict Access to limit who can view or edit the page. Only you and the users you select will be able to access it.
Once everything looks good, click Save. You'll then move on to the next step, adding your text content.
