It's possible to add a button (an image that links to a URL) to your email campaign. To start, choose Email in the navigation bar:
Create a new campaign, or edit an existing one. In the module overview on the right side, you'll see the Button module:
You'll have several options to customize the button:
- Add button text. This lets you add the actual text of the button.
- Link to an internal page (the newsroom homepage, a specific article, or the Media Library), any custom (external) URL, or a file.
Choosing "File" takes you to the Asset Manager, where you can either choose an already uploaded file, or upload a new file.
- Style the button itself:
Choose the background color of the button, the color or the border, the border's size in pixels, and whether the border should be solid, dashed or dotted. You can also add rounded corners, but you should be aware that these are not supported in all email clients. Finally, you can align the button to the left, to the right, or center it.
- Style the text within the button:
Choose the text size in pixels and its color. The text can be displayed in bold, italics or underlined. You can also add the amount of pixels in padding.
- Style the container. This is the area that sits outside of the button:
You can choose a background color and add the amount of pixels in padding on all sides.
Note that increasing the padding here does not make the container bigger; it is used to adjust the position of the button relative to the container it sits in.
So if your button is aligned to the left, and you add 100 pixels of padding to the left, the end result will be as follows: 100 pixels of container space, then your button, and then the remaining part of the container.
Once your button is ready, you can save it to the template module library so you have a reusable component that you can add to other email campaigns without having to re-create the button all over again:
Hover over the module and click the floppy disk button. Add a title and a description and your module will be saved to the library:
