Create and Publish a Page (videos)

We put together this video series to help you get started with creating and publishing Pages in the Newsroom platform. 

Watch tips: 

• All videos include chapters. Hover over the progress bar to directly skip to the relevant chapters.

1. Add Page

This video shows how to add new pages to the newsroom.

Topics covered: Page types - Article, Custom Page, and Based on; Page language; and Schema type for SEO.

Assignment: Click the Add page button. On the ‘Add page’ page, add your article title, select the page type and click Save.

2. Add Page Text

This video shows how to add text to your page, and how to improve the page text via the available options.

Topics covered: Meta Title (SEO); Adding text blocks; Subheadings (SEO); Inline image; Slug; Tag library; and Featured Image. 

Assignment: In your training article, copy and paste an article text over several text blocks, use the subheadings from the text editor, and add an inline image in one of the text blocks. In the Article page details, add a tag from the tag library and a featured image.

3. Add Modules and restructure the Page Layout

This video shows how to add modules to enrich the article text and how to use the Page Layout to restructure the page.

Topics covered: Personal and General Contact Information, Author module, Quotes, Images, Videos, and Downloads. 

Assignment I: In the training article, add the following modules via the left hand menu: Contact Information, Quote, Image, Video, and Download. Click the Preview button to see your article.
Assignment II: In your training article, go to Page Layout. Drag and drop the modules in the preferred order.

4. Publish your Page 

This video shows how to Publish a Page, the Publish Settings and the Extra Options

Topics covered: Exclude Page from Newsroom areas, Page Indexation (SEO), Notifications, and Embargo, Publish Now, Schedule.

Assignment: Congratulations, you are ready to publish your article!

If the newsroom is NOT live: Go to the Publish Options of the article, change the status to Published and click Save. 

If the newsroom is live: Please check if this is an article which you would like to publish on the Newsroom. If you can confidentially say yes, change the article's status to Published.

5. Add Distribution Channels

This video shows how to maximize the reach of your audience by using the distribution channels, all from within the Presspage platform.

Topics covered: Social Media Channels, Presspage Email.

Assignment: Add one social media and Presspage Email as Distribution Channels to your Article and Publish the article.

6. Create a Page Template

This video shows how to create and use Page Templates.
Topics covered: Add a Template Page, Examples of Modules which can be used in a template, create a Page based on a Template.

Assignment: Click the Add Page button, check the template box, and create a Template article with the desired modules. When ready, always leave the template in draft.
