If you have articles that should be unpublished from the newsroom but at the same time should stay available in the backend, for example for legal reasons, it's now possible to give articles the 'archived' status in your Pages overview, rather than putting them back to the 'draft' status.
This will prevent clutter and keep the list of draft articles a lot shorter.
To archive one or more articles, go into the Pages overview, and click on 'Bulk selection' on the right side:
This will show the option 'toggle bulk selection'. Choosing this option will show checkboxes to the left of each title.
Select one or more articles and choose the option 'Archive selected pages':
You can also bulk select all articles in the current view by selecting the topmost checkbox. Loading more articles in this overview now loads 50 extra articles at a time, making it easier to perform bulk operations.
Once your articles have been archived, they will be unpublished and moved to the bottom of the Pages overview in their own section:
The original publication date is maintained, so if you want to publish the article at a later moment at the same date, you can do so by going into the publication settings of the article.
Articles that have been archived will no longer show up on the newsroom, in search results or in RSS feeds.
Note: this archive status is unrelated to the "archive pages" feature on the newsroom itself.
